I ahave a problem with NT4 SP6a locking up,

I have these error messages in the event viewer. It happens at least twice a day

1. ID24 Serial

A conflict has been detected between two drivers which claimed equivelent IRQs. Driver serial with device <\device\serial10000 Translated> , claimed an interupt with level in data address 0x2c and affinity in data address 0x30

2. ID24 Serial

A conflict has been detected between two drivers which claimed equivelent IRQs. Driver Atapi with device.
<\device\scsiiport1 translated> claimed an interupt with level in data address 0x2c and affinity in data address 0x30

3. ID4 Serial

The hardware resources for com3 are already in use by another device.

4. ID36 Serial

While validating that com1 was really a serial porrt the contents of the divisor latch register was identicle to the interupt enable and the recieve registers. The device is assumed not to be a seriel port and will be deleted.

Thanks

Check NT Diagnostics, on the Resources -> IRQ, and see which devices have the same IRQ set.

You may need to allocate a different IRQ # to one of your COM ports, or move a device from one COM port to another. [auto] MCSE NT4/W2K
