Somehow the NT4 BDC can't communicate with the W2K PDC. I think it has lost its secure channel.

I have tried netdom but it doesn't seem to work.

Is there any other method to get the BDC computer account reset in W2k??

Thanks.

kooma,

Is this a new migration from a Windows NT 4 domain?

When it was installed - was it installed as Native Mode or Mixed Mode?

It sounds as if you're running the Windows 2000 domain in native mode. In order to use NT4 Server as a domain controller you must be running Windows 2000 Server in mixed mode. To ensure you are running in mixed mode, go to Start>Settings>Control Panel>Active Directory Domains and Trusts>Right click on the domain and click properties. Under the general tab about half way down the window you should see a line that says: "Domain operation mode: " This should say Mixed Mode.

HTH!
