I have a beefed up HP Net Server, with dual 9.1 gb SCSI drives, half-gig of ram, piii 500 cpu.

Started locking up after the second NIC was added to the server to allow for a new router for internet access. The router receives ip address from the ISP.

We are using WinProxy as the software package for firewall and user controls. The software worked great until we went from a modem to a router with ISDN service. Any ideas????

Also, I have noticed that the RDR.sys service (redirector) shows an error at approximately the same time the locking up of systems started occuring. Nothing else reported in the event viewer. Locks in different programs not just internet and once the first WS goes down and locks the others start dropping off quickly and locking up... Keith Buchanan

additional note that the server started locking up workstations PRIOR to the rdr error in the event viewer by
approximately one hour....

There may be a connection between the locking up of the workstations and when the router on one of the Nic's calls the ISP. We are on DOD ISDN connection (Dial on Demand) and thus, occasionally the router may terminate the call due to inactivity and then redial and receive a new IP address as that nic's address is Automatically assigned by the ISP.
