Just an odd thought. Has anybody ever installed Macola on a Linux based server? Or used it in a mixed environment with Macola on a Windows platform (SQL & 2000) but the rest of the network is on something else?

Macola won't run on a linux based server. EXEs can't run a native linux environment. Although they can run in emulators like WINE, Macola doesn't.
As for a mixed network, as long as the Macola server is Windows or Novell and the workstations are windows, everything else can be linux, OSX, or Amiga for as far as Macola cares.
At one point they were looking into porting to linux but that never saw fruitiion.
