Hello people,

We have recently upgraded our domain; well created a new one; from NT to 2000/2003.

Basically we have created a new domain and migrated users and their mailboxes from one to the other. We are thereofre still operating in 'mixed mode' with one server (the old PDC which also ran exchange 5.5 but no longer has those services running as the new domain is reliant on the exchange 2003 server)

Obviously we now wish to remove the old PDC and the domain it existed in from our site so to speak.

So at the moment we have domain a; the old domain, consisting of one NT server still set up as it was as a PDC but without exchange services running. And domain b; the new domain, consisting of two domain controllers running win server 2003 and a win 2000 server running exchange 2003.

So what I am looking for is to remove the old NT server from the active directory as a PDC basically, I think (!), so that it can be used as a normal server - storage/applications etc.

I am very unsure of any processes or procedures that I should be following at this stage so if anyone would be able to help me I would be grateful.

Thanks

Dave
