To fix NT Client agent timeout problems would it be better to change the client agent priority to low, or change the Receive and Send timeout settings in the registry? Or both?

Best to try both, sometimes one works and sometimes it is the other, and then again sometimes neither will do the trick.
Usually from what I have been able to tell if the problem is over the network (somewere between the two NICs) the timeout will work. When the problem is on the target system and due to a contention between the agent and some other application setting the priority to low does the trick.
