NT 4.0 workstation

when starting computer it will not go past the the microdosft screen "windows Nt 4.0" . Freezes there.
The logon box does not pop up.

Can you selete "last good logon" when it boots?

Yes you can select "last known logon" but it does not help

Try booting with Repair disk or CD and choose repair.

Sounds like hardware problem.
If not the drive, you can pull out other boards or put drive into another machine to see if it will get any farther.

could be the network card or driver, start into VGA mode and see if you can spot anything in there...(asuming it lets you in!!) if you can get in, try also doing a search for a file called scam32.exe hope you dont find it!! thats a virus whit symptoms of hanging on startup etc....
