Just in case some of you haven't heard yet, you might want to go out to Windows Update and check for new critical security patches:

Hi cdogg

I've just installed all the patches from the microsoft site, including an nVidia driver update. The result - my monitor resolution was completely screwed up and I couldn't adjust it back to the correct resolution. It was like running in Safe Mode. I had to do a restore to correct things.
I guess it may have been the nVidia driver. So be wary if you decide to install the latest security patches, which seems sensible.
I'm going to try again without the nVidia update and see what happens.

Yeah, keep us posted. It would also help to know what exact model video card and motherboard you're using as well as driver versions.
