Stupid newbie question time...

Running NW5 SP6a. I've got one volume way too big, and two volumes way too small. I plan on shuffling volume sizes around by following these steps:

1. Create a temp dir on volume <othervol>
2. NCOPY all files and dirs from volume <2big> to temp dir.
3. Delete volume <2big>
4. Re-create volume <2big> as a much smaller volume
5. NCOPY all files from temp on <othervol> to <2big>
6. Expand <2small1> to take half of what was freed up
7. Expand <2small2> to take other half of free space
8. Run DSREPAIR until clean

Have I overlooked anything? Is there a better way?
I have noticed a wrinkle in my plans, the volumes I need to expand are flagged as not expandable. What do I do about this?

Thanks in advance for any light you can shed.

According to TID2948992, I am hosed. Is there any way out, other than re-creating half the volumes on my server?
