Q1: I have seen cases where a Savegroup Completion Report contains saveset details listed under the headings of <Successful Savesets>, <Unsuccessful Savesets> and <Never Started Savesets>. Does anybody know how savesets listed under these headings would appear in the nsradmin completion attribute (status/message wise)?

Q2: If a backup fails because Legato was unable to connect to the client (i.e. a hostconnect failure), what would be shown in the completion attribute for each saveset relating to this client (status/message wise)?

Q3: If a full back up of a client is scheduled for Friday evening and incremental backups for the rest of the week...what would happen if the full backup fails and no files are modified when the first incremental backup is due...would the incremental backup just do a full back up of each saveset that failed last time?

Thanks in advance

With respect to the error messages i think nobody can help you reliably due
to several reasons. One is that the messages (even slightly) change from
time to time. But the major problem is that there is no fixed messages set
- right now they are assembled from various strings and therefore it is
impossibble to exactly name them. However, i have been told that error message
numbers shall be implemented as well sometime in the future.

With respect to Q3: With the default settings, NW will just do another incremental
and backup what has changed since the last backup of any other level.
The reason for that is that NW is not really interested in the 'history' -
it takes the parameters that are due for that savetime. If you want to retry a
failed backup, you must not "start the group anouther time" but you have to
"restart the group". In this case only all save sets which were not completed
during the last backup will be retried.
