Over the summer we have to make some room in an existing PBX for a department that's being moved into an existing location with its own existing phone tree. I want to give these staffers being moved in easy consecutive extensions, but I don't want to boot people from their existing extensions who are already working in that building. Is it possible to add more extensions to a specific location PBX? I think the extensions here start in the 1300 range. Can I make some that are in the 1200 range, like 1297, 1298, and 1299? Thanks for any guidance.

I'm going to assume these will be IP phones. You may need to add some capacity, to support the additional extensions, by adding VIPEXT32 virtual card(s) to a virtual slot.. Assuming you have upgraded the PBX firmware to v9, this won't be an issue and you will not have to purchase additional licenses. You'll want to check how you have extension numbering configured. You'll probably want it set to manual so you can assign extension numbers according to your proposed plan. You would make these additions from the Maintenance Console The system documentation does a decent job of explaining how to.
