I have the fllowing scenario. Have an old MICS 4.0 which is going to be upgraded to a new MICS 7.0. KSU is going to be replaced with a new one. I understand I cannot do a backup of the 4.0 and restore it onto the 7.0. However I was wondering if I can download the 4.0 into the excel file and then take that and spit it upto the 7.0. Any thoughts?

This is being proposed because the customer is going PRI and getting a flash. Right now the packaging price makes it cheaper to get new equipment than to upgrade the MICS 4 KSU. The only stickler is labour if I have to reprogram the KSU from scratch.

Thanks.

First backup your 4.0
then use the upgrade tools to get you to 7.0(I think you have to use 2 or 3 different tools to do this)
backup the programming again at 7.0
then upgrade the hardware
then upgrade any key codes.

the excel worksheets won't work the way you want because they need different maps for each software level as well as different maps within the software packages also.

If your customer is getting a Flash rather than a Call Pilot then they are buying discontinued hardware. I would be suspicious of anyone selling a Flash today.
