Our network is setup on static IP's, we tried to change to DHCP over the weekend using DHCP Service on Novell 5.0. We updated the tcpcfg and tcpip.nlm files to support supernetting. We have several Novell 5 servers in different branches. As soon as we change the Subnet mask and IP addresses on the servers, switches and routers, we can ping the main router, but not the main Novell server at corporate which is running DHCP. So none of the branches can communicate with each other. I changed the TCP/IP bindings and the Lan Static Route to the new gateway.
IP: 192.168.0.2 - Corporate Gateway (Pingable from all branches)
IP: 192.168.0.51 - Not pingable - Corporate NW5 server running DHCP
IP: 192.168.8.2 - Branch gateway
IP: 192.168.8.52 - Branch NW5 server
We are using Nortel Baystack 470T switches and Nortel routers. Just posted this to see if anyone out there has run into problems like this before, or if you guys have any ideas.
