Have a client running Novell Client 4.90 on their workstation and after about 15 minutes or so it will automatically do a "LOCK WORKSTATION" without the client having to do the Cntrl + Alt + Delete and then clicking on the "LOCK WORKSTATION" button. Doesn't seem to be any issue with the screen saver because that's turned off. Any ideas where to turn this off at so the machine will not "LOCK WORKSTATION" by itself?

Thanks
Sman

It has nothing to do with power saving/hibernation either.
thanks though.

Any other thoughts out there?

Is the 15 minute time when a screensaver kicks in? Check the screensaver properties.

Please see above, "Doesn't seem to be any issue with the screen saver because that's turned off."

thanks.

I don't know of anything within the Novell client that causes a workstation lock after a certain time period. It's ALWAYS a workstation setting. Check again.

It is coming up with the "Workstation Lock" for the NOVELL CLIENT and not lock for the XP workstation. Baffles me.... We had another workstation start this same scenerio so now 2 workstations will go to the "Workstation Lock" status after a certain period. Didn't happen then one day it started. Clients don't have rights to change any screensaver/power features so I know and have checked that those are all off.

thanks.

Well... When you use a screensaver and require a password, it WILL bring up the Novell client window. That's normal, but it's still a Windows setting. It has nothing to do with the client.

Unless there is a network workstation profile taking effect somewhere?

Yes...that's what I was thinking TheLad but even so I don't see anything in Novell Client Properties that allows you to auto. lock the workstation after a certain amount of time....

In the NetWare Workstation profiles, there are screensaver settings that may be taking effect. Check your NDS tree to ensure that there are no Workstation profiles taking over here.
