Notepad defaults 2

In Notepad - the defaults are for a header and footer.
Also the margins are set. I searched the registry (Win 98) for these
defaults and found nothing.

How do I change the defaults for Notepad? [sig][/sig]

Notepad is a basic text editor, it does not have headers and footers, if you are using Win98, and you need to plat with such things try Wordpad.

Too bad it's not NT 4. I was able to find the reg key, had to set SaveSettings to &H1, then use NotePad, removed the &f and &page # from printer drivers, close NotePad, back into the reg (BTW it add two new values) and reset SaveSettings to &H0.

Now I can use notepad for direct printing without footers and headers (and the margins are now set too).

Go to this site and download Notepad+. No header or footer, you can set all margins, and open multipal files at the same time. It even shows recently used files.
