Hello all,
I somehow damaged my on-board sound card on a 12-month-old notebook. I am currently looking for an external sound device USB/Firewire/PCMCIA that can cater for extemely basic use.

I don't need 24-bit quality or 7.1 suround. I just need basic stereo cd quality.

Any recomendations or critisims on products is what I am after.

All help apreciated.

Thanks everyone.

Thanks fot hte quick reply.
Still looking for something a bit cheaper. Bout US$30. Not looking for good sound.

Thanks though

How sure are you that the on-board sound is bad? How did you damage it?

I was unpluging my ipod from my line in. Never worked scince. and after formatting my hard drive (for other reasons) still didnt work it.

Is the Notebook still under warranty, considering it's just over a year old?
