Hi,
I have a routed dsl solution (one public ip address for the router and 5 public ip addresses to use as desired). I also bought a Firebox X1000 and configured in routed mode. I entered the public address assigned to the router as the default gateway, and assigned one of the public ip addresses to the firebox and added the others as aliases. I assigned a private ip address to the trusted interface and left the optional interface blank (not used).
I have confirmed that the IP addresses I'm using are correct and that my service provider (BT) is not blocking any ports on their side.
I have a web and mail server running that I would like to expose. So I added two services Proxied HTTP and SMTP and mapped the public address to the private address. I then used my laptop to dial-up to the Internet and attempted to telnet to the mail server and browse to the web server. However this is not happening. When these attempts are made the traffic manager or host watch do not show the attempts made to access ports 25 or 80. However if I modify the ping service to allow inbound requests and then ping the public address I get a response and the traffic monitor shows the request. However I am still unable to access the web and mail server.
Has anyone ever experienced this problem before?
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Mark
