Hi,
I have a major problem with a Win2k DC, It is a standalone DC and after a restart I am suddenly getting:

Event ID: 1006
Not enough storage is available to complete this operation.

I have checked everywhere on the net I can think of including changing Page File size, max registry size and IRPStack Size but none of this works. The error appears when starting all of the web services, DNS and DHCP and when I try and launch AD Users and Computers, it comes up with - Server is not operational.

DCDiag does not work without DNS but I can't start it and NetDiag says that no DCs are up.

If anyone can help I would be so grateful as I have been on this for about 20 hours now.

Cheers

Have got any hardware failure, are you using raid?

Thanks for replying. There doesn't appear to be any hardware failure but I am not using RAID

What is the source? Stupid question hard disk space?

Well, it's strange. For example, the DHCP error message is as follows:

Source DhcpServer
Event ID: 1006
The DHCP service failed to start as a RPC server. The following error occured:
Not enough storage is available to complete this operation.

The problems seem to be centred round nothing being able to talk to RPC. Is there a way that I can re-install RPC ?

Re-apply the latest service pack.

If it doesn't leak oil it must be empty!!

Thanks,
Done that twice now though....
