Here is one for ya..

I have a site survey to do on an old Northern Telcom SL 100. This thing is huge and old. I have never seen one of these before. I have a couple of questions that maybe someone can answer for me.

1. Opening the front door. I see a small keywhole. I would imagine that is how you access the cards in this system. Any particular key or tool needed?

2. I believe to connect to a terminaless system, a laptop with procomm. Com 1 set to 2400 baud, 8-n-1 would work. Cable should be a 9 pin to 25 pin with a null modem adapter???

3. Once you access the programming, is there a quick command to inventory the cards and stations? Same loads as the Options?

I appreciate anyone who shares there experience with this PBX.

an allen wrench
yes, but can be 8 none and 1 at 96, may not need to nul, depends on internal strapping

and the quick commands depend on the rls.. older boxes had very few if any shortcuts.. if most of the part numbers start with qpc.. quick inventory

Probally not a SL-100 but an SL1 SL-100 is a CO Switch and an SL1 is a pbx.

ace, if it opens with an allen wrench then it's a sl 1, the sl100 had drawers for cards, not doors.. i don't know why i didn't mention that

quick inventory 1 each-- boat anchor"

Now JP just because something is OLD like you and I, doesn't mean it's a boat anchor, if it's running and it meets the user's needs, it's a great switch.

Inventory is Manual only.

The SL-100 doesnt use loads, you have Mapci/mtc/ something I forgot lol

If you get into it, you can type mapci and it will pull up a menu to go elswhere. I used to remember how to pull up a station without the menu but its been too long.
