I am currently working on a project form work that requires me to login thru a VPN connection to another network.

My problem is that I need to logon to the remote domain in order to do certain tasks.

Now I know I can use the dial-up connection checkbox on the 2k logon screen but the dialer I need to use is a 3rd party dialer that uses IPSEC and a secure access card. ( pin changes every 60 seconds )

I wanted to know if any of you know how to modify the logon process to allow me to use a 3rd party dialer instead of the Windows one???

I heard that there is something in the W2k Res Kit.....

HELP thanks

I believe your referring to the Nortel Extranet Client?

Maybe I'm missing something here, but you should be able to log onto your 2k box and then log onto the remote domain strictly through the Nortel Client. So just log on locally and THEN use the Nortel VPN client to log onto the remote domain.

The problem is that unlike the 2k VPN there is no spot to enter your logon domain..... That's where I am having problems.....

Assuming your using the Nortel Client...

Your logon domain should go in the "destination" textbox in the Client. Also make sure the "Log onto Remote Domain" checkbox under options is selected. Hope that helps...

This should really already be pre-configured by your admin

Like I said before...I am working on a project to make this possible...There is nothing at their end that would require one of their users to do so ... But unfortunaltly mine do.
