Hi There,
We have Voice mail release 13 and a storage issue, when folk leave messages, the system does not stop letting people leave messages even though we have set the storage limit to 5 mins. Some of our users who may be on holiday have upwards of 120 mins worth of messages in there box does anyone know how this can be stopped.

Thanks

You need
1. delete all messages for this mailbox
or
2.delete this mailbox.

Javier

Thanks Javier,
Thing is its a system wide problem. does this mean i should monitor the mail system and delete the all the box's that go above say 30mins of stoage ? I have spoken to Nortel they say that Meridian Mail will go on taking storage from else where to satisfy hungry mail box's.

right, because the mailbox consume hours of storage of the total that have the system.
You can also activate the elimination of non read messages after certain quantity of days.

Regards,

Javier

if you look in the class of service for users, you can limit any class to x minutes of storage, and not allow msg's after they reach the limit. you can also force any class to auto delete msg after x number of days.. my standard user has 15 minutes of storage, and all read msgs disappear after 7 days, all unread msg go away after 14 days. i also do a audit and any mb that is unused for 45 days is gone, i also remove the forwarding from that phone.. my hd was at 90 percent a year ago. i have added 300 or more new users, by doing maint. my hd is at 23 percent... i don't know who at nortel you talked to, but he must sell harddrives for a living

Thanks everyone I have now reset the parameters in the cls and will monitor. Apologies to the folk at Nortel for it was BT Meridian Helpdesk that gave the advice, and not Nortel as i first claimed. And maybe I heard them wrong, any how. Thanks Again.

BT Meridian Helpdesk" not that big of a surprise...
