Nortel to Inter-Tel -5000

Has anyone configured a PRI setup for a Nortel switch to an Inter-tel-5000?
I've tried several configs thus far and none of them have worked. Currently have it set to ess5, but the d-channel won't establish. Seems I have to provide clocking for the D-channel to work, and that is not an option for ess5. vendor on the other side has set the inter-tel to ess5 as well with no success.
Only config that seems close to working is my side (nortel) setup as SL1, NET on clocking. Call is presented to channel, I can see it pegged up, but then goes fast busy.
The inter-tel side is limited to NI2, ESS5 or DMS-100, he tried all of those with me set as SL1 no success. He sees protocol errors, which I guess he should since we're not matching. I've tried, NI2, ESS5, and dms100
 
So the InterTel can't do QSIG?

I asked that last week, and nope, it doesn't have that package.
 
We have a site with an 81C connected to Cisco routers (not CallManager) with PRI interfaces that we had a time getting connected properly. We ended up setting the Nortel IFC to S100 and NET. I apologize, but I don't know what the Cisco routers are set to. (I think they are DMS100 but not positive) I just thought I would bring it up in case you wanted to try S100 on your end. You might try S100 to DMS100 1st.

Thanks. To be honest I've outed this and rebuilt it so many times I'm not sure if I tried S100, but will do so. Thanks again
 
Well, in my opinion, if this doesn't work then you have exhausted all you can to try to make up for the limitations of the other system. You may have to just install a regular E&M Tie T1 with no DCH.

Whether the Inter-Tel can do QSIG or not, just for some off chance and a last resort, i configured my side as QSIG and it is now working. Weird one, especially since they are configured as NI2 on their end. Thanks for the post.
