Hello from a newbie to this forum. We are in the process of a WAN replacement and are decommissioning Nortel Passports with Cisco 7206's. We are about to migrate the voice to the Ciscos and I have a few questions from a PBX perspective:

The environment that we are working with is:
Option 61C - rel. 25.30
Option 61C - rel. 25.40
Option 11C - rel. 25.10

Question 1: Are there Meridian 1 software packages required to configure Cisco's QSIG and if so what PKG numbers?

Question 2: For T1 standard should we use ISIG or ESIG?

Question 3: What trunk type (TKTP)should the route be built as?

Question 4: What Meridian 1 programming is required in order to pass CPND? i.e. RCAP ND2

Final question: Can anyone supply me with an RDB, ADAN DCH, or LTM printouts that provide a working example between Nortel Meridian 1's and Cisco?

I appreciate any input that you may provide. Thanks in advance.

This information is provided on Ciscos web. Search the knowledge base for Nortel meridian PRI etc. I've done this befoure and there are guides for how to program routes, members and d-channel...

Thanks - we have used Cisco's knowledge base. I've determined that we are missing QSIG PKG 263 on two of our PBX's. Thanks for the help.

If you signed a maintenance contract that grants you a free upgrade to succession 3.0 then qsig becomes standard. If not i thinks it costs one arm, one leg and one testi...well you catch my drift.

Thank you for the message. Actually we have a maintenance agreement and they did not register us in the Customer Loyalty Program for the free upgrades. Instead they supplied us with a quote for $70K. I am actually waiting for a quotation on the QSIG packages. Apparently we need PKG 263 and a QSIG supplemental package. I hope it isn't outrageous or we may have to go the ITG route and upgrade to Succession. Either way I do not think that I have a quick fix at hand.
