NORTEL M3904 Turn ringer OFF

I have NORTEL M3904 in a room that is used at many times that requires the Ringer to be complete turned OFF (no sound) lights ok. We tried to turn the volume down but still ringrs. Does anyone know how to complete turn off the ringer?

I would call that a "Call Forward" key.

Or, you can leave the handset off the cradle. This does not hold the line in-use either. The phone will just emit a short buzz one time per call.

Another option is to add an MSB key.

Or you could change the line to SCN xxxx

SCN does not meet the condition of "at many times". It permanently turns off the ringing.

To have the light but no sound. Snip the wire to the speaker. Had to do that for a recording studio.

em... Forgive me, I'm not tryin to be ignorant. But you should have been able to turn the ringer off at the phone with the volume bar. But you can only do this while the phone is audible ringing.

Was the phone ringing when you attempted to turn it off with the volume bar.?

my 3904 will not go to zero vol, but close.. a cfw key or a dnd key.. my users tend to forward to mail when they are with a patient..

the msb key, lets the line flash but kills the ringer..
didn't know that untill i tested it on my 3904...

MSB kills the ring but lets it flash "only if the DN appears more than one place"
