Nortel door phone issue

I have a door phone with the controller. I get the feature 9*4 it comes up.
I get digital tone, the port is good. When I push it it gives me a re order tone.
It rings the set but cant open the door. I checked the controller light flashes I hit the reset button on the controller but still nothing. Is the controller bad?

Verify what digit is to be used.

Is this a newly installed door phone?

Is the DN it is supposed to ring working?

Can you call the door phone? You should be able to call hte door phone from any other phone if you know its DN.

Check the connections on the Door phone, that the controller is conected.
And did the door controler work before?

Check also the dip switches, they control what code is used to open the door. Default is 6.

Thanks everyone for the response. The door used to work til they had a power surge. I checked the door phone and it works. Any way of testing the door controller.
This is kinda puzzling. The door controller is getting power. Could it be that a
chip on the controller is gone

When you press the digit gives a contact closure, remove power and test for continuity when digit is pressed.
