I have a customer that is planning to replace a BCM with an IP Office. They have 1230 and 1220 phones at the moment.
My plan is to replace the BCM and hook these phones. Do you know if these phones are compatible with IP Office Version 8.0?

Do I have to run IP Office in Nortel version? I am not so keen as I do not have experience with Nortel BCM.

Will I need Avaya IP Endpoint licenses to operate them or 3rd party ip endpoints?

Thanks.

Look at the IP Office documentation. You load SIP software on the 1220/1230 and can use them on the IP Office.

just 1 point to consider

The ip phones will work ok but not like they do on a bcm.

They become a sip phone and to make a call you need to press the send button.

They are not BCM anymore when connected to IP office.

You will see what i mean when you get them working.

Also 1210 phones are not supported.
