Okay, I installed a Fastrad, and configg'd it... everything basicaly works connecting to the system remotely using NRU10

BUT ! ! !

Is this as good as it gets ? The only remote configuration I can do is with the virtual phone that is displayed.

Is'nt there a more robust way to access MANY features, etc to program the system ?

Do I need an older utility since the system is so old ? or am I missing something.

thanks all for getting me this far!

I dont think NRU is what you need. I use Manager 3.5 to access my 824DR5s.....lets me totally program/backup/restore the KSU..NRU10 is for 0x32s iirc and is not meant for use with the DR5 and earlier...If you need a copy, let me know..Im dialed into my S LA KSU right now doing a backup while typing this :)

That would be GREAT... sounds like what I am after.

Right now I can do things remotely, but it's kind of painful..

I found a copy of Manager 3.5 on Nortel site, but I can't seem to get it to run right..

First, I have trouble getting past the "password / user" prompt. I somehow got past it once, but then I got a "cannot open database" when I tried to connect.. ???

Any thoughts ?

thanks!

Yeah, I added it.

I snooped around a bit more, and saw someone having a similar issue because of modem dialing string... so I tried it with NO dialing string, and was able to dial, and handshake with the RAD but it never goes any furthur. it stumbles a while and then comes back with an error..

I know theRAD and my modem are compatible because I can connect just fine with NRU10

?? ??? ? ?

Is there a list of error messages and what they mean for Manager 3.5 ?

thanx!

Actually it's running on Vista, but I tried it on an XP machine with similar results.

On the Norstar site they show a version for XP / 2000 and a version for 98 .. both show as 3.5 ???

I don't know where to find 3.7

any hints ? :)

thanx!

Got it! thanks..

I'll try installing / running it a little later but I d'l already.

I have had the same problems described above with accessing my 824 DS system. Will Norstar MGR 3.7 solve this?

John

Well for me it seems to be the ticket!

I loaded up 3.7 and it works.... .EXCEPT ...

when you start it it comes up with an error "cannot create named pipe" ..

but if you click though the messages, it seems to work fine.. ???

I can see / manage all the featurs in a menu-friendly (although very slo interface..

Thanks for the help, Ex

Brian, would it be possible for you to post the link for the zipped 3.7 file again? I'm in desperate need of it and cant find it anywhere. Thanks, Bill
