Ok, I know I'm an AI noob. So we all have to start somewhere! I have read other threads about gradient fills. Maybe I just completely do not understand this program b/c it is so different from Photoshop. I want to know how to create a rectangle with a gradient blue fill. All I can get is greyscale.

Make your rectangle, click the 'gradient' icon to get your greyscale gradient, then go to Window > Gradient. In the gradient palette that appears, you'll see a square underneath each end of the gradient, one black and one white. If the color palette isn't visible, open in now (Window > Color), then click on either square to see what color it is. Changing the color palette will alter the color at that point.

Thanx for the time of helping a noob! The learning curve for AI is must greater than Photoshop.
