Non Amplified Headsets

I'm aware the Plantronics Polaris series is a direct plugin headset for norstar sets. I would imagine these work well. I've also seen a few other "value" brands: Normate, Chameleon Convertible, etc.

The customer just asked me to get them headsets for their new T7316s. Any suggestions / experiences would be appreciated.

Gn Netcom makes a great headset - they have one that's called 405flex which this is a 3 in one headset- you have over the head around the earand in the ear.

Is the Gn Netcom direct plugin, or do you need an amp?

FYI - I found this in my files, I did not write it, and I dont have any experiance with the products. I think they are all made by Plantronics, but I dont know if they need an amp. Perhaps someone could comment on that?

Headsets for NorStar telephones are available in three basic configurations.

There are many brands of headsets on the market, and many are available at office supply outlets. Almost none of these will work on the NorStar system.

The three types that will work are described below.

TYPE 1
The "Supra" model is commonly referred to as an "over-the-head" headset. This type of headset is efficient at coupling the caller's voice into the user's ear.


TYPE 2
The "Mirage" version sits on top of the ear and has a small speaker positioned over the ear canal.
The sound level coupled to the ear canal is less with a "Mirage" as compared to the "Supra."

TYPE 3
The "StarSet" headset sits on the ear, but employs a flexible tube to couple the caller's voice into the user's ear canal. The "StarSet" headset is the most efficient in delivering a caller's
voice to the user and is quite effective in blocking local room noise from the ear of the user.

The three types you listed are plantronics headsets. Thay use the M10 or M12 base unit(amplified). Thae base units can be battery powered or AC powered. We use the GN Netcom headset once and if I remeber correctly they pluged directly in with no amp. Thay also had a wireless version.
