Noise as you talk on 1608 handsets

Have just completed an IP500 install with 1608 handsets. All went well except users are complaining that they get a Hissing noise when the talk.

For example when the user of the 1608 handset says something they hear a noise at the same time as they speak there is no noise when they are not speaking.

Has anyone experienced this issue?

Did u upgrade the firmware on the 1608 to latest version?

They are running all the software from the latest applications CD 5.0.15

Did you enable recording on the handsets?

I also think by default they use G729 - step it up to G711

I had the same issue once and G711 seemed to resolve it

They are running g711 and the problem is there if they have recording on or off.

are you sure the recording is off? Try turning off the vmpro service and test the quality. This is a common problem with VMPro recording, see intigrant's post here,

also check your lan speed settings are not set to auto but try above first.

sounds like the issue i had on a 1616 once. when you are talking, you hear a whispery echo of your speech, almost like you are blowing into the phone? you can hear it but the other party cant?

The phone i had it on hadn't taken the correct firmware for whatever reason, i would triple check it took the right files.
