I have a ip office 500 v2, 7.0 software embedded voice mail. 4 ant trunks 1416 phones, I did all impedence set on the lines. And after i place a call maybe 20 seconds there a noise that comes on the line or all the lines sounds like a window is down. The c.o. lines are fine, not to hot, And suggestions what to look for,,Thanks

Bad IP 500. You need to swap it out. Been a known issue with analog trunks. Search on here, there's plenty of threads on "whooshing" noises on analog trunks with v2's

Definitely a bad IP500V2 carrier. I had the same thing. New carrier fixed it.

Not to get off track But, Has Avaya ever found out if there was a bad lot # for these carriers?? Is there a part # or serial number to identify them?

I don't think they have even acknowledged the issue exists, never mind put out a TB with serials for effected units :-)

I know I've had 4 and I'm in the states. I am about to install one on Tuesday with 3 analog trunks. We will see if this has the same issue.

We are in a rural area and do almost all analog trunks. We have only had 1 of course the one we replaced it with had the same issue. Waiting for another replacement unit.

I've put in about a dozen with analog trunks overs the past couple months. I haven't experienced this issue yet. Maybe i'm just lucky. :)

I'm installing another on Monday. You've probably just put the curse on me. I think I'll bring a spare control unit with me since its a few hours down the road.

Hopefully you will not have two bad unit's :-)

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

I'm just glad 99% of our installs are on ISDN. The few that have alogs are usually trouble.

One site that I know will have its IP500 V2 replaced again. This will be the fifth time. The original and replacement 1 and replacement 3 had noise. Replacement number 2 had no noise but ports were blown out of the chassis when a tech connected two external bells to one analog port. So three out of four chassis were noisy with IP500V2 and a combo card with analog trunks.

I wonder if replacement number 4 will be noisy.

Have any of you noticed these new V2's smelling bad? I have a few installed in small areas and they have that good ol electrical fire smell to them. Never really noticed that on the V1's.

I am just glad that we have most analog trunks on systems with digital phones :-)
We had 2 units so far but we only installed about a dozen or so with IP sets and analog trunks. Mostly IP sets go with PRI because smaller customers stay with their network and phones separated (a good idea I think)

I had my first experience with this issue today. I should have kept my mouth shut about not yet having seen this in the field. :)
