The desktop that I am working on video isn't working the on broad and pci card isn't working, everything else is firing up fine.

Can you clarify please. Do you mean you have onboard graphics and you are getting no display on the monitor? Some details of your machine and when/how the problem started would also be helpful.

I had this problem once; it may be time for you to find a new broad. I usually recommend having a broad on the side in case your current broad stops working.

Yes the on-broad video card isn't giving any video after I had replaced the montor, so I installed a pci video card, it still doesn't work. it is a atx mother broad Aopen,I hope it isn't the broad.

Check to see if you have to turn the on-broad video off to use a video card.

I think it is the mother broad because I just notice that I'm not getting activity from the hard drive

Have you checked the power sullpy? If it's not working the mother broad and the hard drive won't work.

oh dear,.. activity with both the main broad and the mother broad is seriously bad news buddy... your hard drive will never cope if they start to conflict...

A smile is worth a thousand kind words. So smile, it's easy! :)

OK someone needs to tell tre313 that the correct spelling is B-O-A-R-D and not B-R-O-A-D. Among English-speakers, a BROAD is a slang term for a member of the female persuasion. A BOARD is what you are trying to fix. There's no known way to fix a BROAD.

wahnula-
I did fix a motherboard once, obvious capacitor burned out (looked different than the others). Ordered a new one from RadioShack for less than two bucks and soldered it in, fixed!
Oh, and I fixed a mother broad once also, but that's a different story...

The test continues...
