i got a brand new motherboard and tower. put it all together and loaded a game on there and it shut off. now i just get the power light fans blowing but no video. is my motherboard blown or what?

Reset the BIOS, (jumper - or pull the battery for a couple of hours).

If that doesn't work, try physically removing and reinstalling your video card.. next try the same with your memory, ide cables, and cpu if nothing else works. Just be careful, and make sure you know what you're doing first, so you don't mess anything worse. If none of this works, try a different power supply - could be problems there, since not booting again.. Could also try a different video/display adapter or just onboard video if that is available. If none of that works, it's worth a shot to make sure all your front panel connections are correct (if you bought your mobo separate from computer, then it should be listed somewhere in the manual).
