Good-Day,
I have reinstalled winXPpro but now I have no sound. The speaker system works and even when I set my headphones into the soundcard or the cd drive I get no sound. I have tried to load the driver on the multifunction device (aureal vortex 8830 audio wdm)but it starts and then tells me it is not the proper one.The drivers are on a Dell resource cd but I also checked for updates and tried those. When I start win-mediaplayer it reports back no soundcard, problem: = 0x80040256 , solution id = 0x000000.
I didn't have this problem before with XP. I also run the boot test for soundcard and it passed all aspects of the turtle beach montonego 2 test. Yeah I'm lost!!

patiently hoping.......Denis
