Hi
I have a Dell latitude originally with Windows NT4 sp5
I have just upgraded to Windows 2000 professional and now
the only sound I ever hear is my modem noise when connecting
At each login I get a window with something like 'Audio ( and a speaker icon ) - Searching for Device Driver' - which eventually dissappears.
I have tried to set up through control panel - but it seems I'm missing a driver now ?
Anyone any thoughts as to what to do ?

Check on Dells website and download the appropriate Windows 2000 driver for the Soundcard.

Install it and you should get your sound back.

If you right click on "My Computer" and then left click properties, then Hardware and finally Device Manager button, you should see from there whether the drivers are installed correctly.

Cheers Nzarth - should've thought of that !

Driver found and installed !
I now have Bing, Bong, Ding and Dong - and all the rest
Hurrah !
