no ring tone

I have an IP500v2 release 6.

When dialling one IP (9620L) set to another IP (9620L)set, or IP set to digital set (1416) (or digital to IP set), I always hear ring tone until the call is answered as expected.

I am using a BRI simulator, to simulate incoming and outgoing calls.

When calling in from the simulator into the IPO, I hear the phone ring, plus I hear ring tone on the BRI simulator as expected.

When calling out (from both an IP set and a digital set, from the IPO to the BRI simulator), I hear the BRI ring as expected. However the IP set shows "Dialling" then "Calling". I hear the initial dial tone, enter the dial string, however at no stage do I hear ring tone (not as expected).

I tried a lab IPO too, and again do not hear ring tone.

Would this be a result of using a simulator, or is there something I need to check/resolve? Any ideas please?

Did you try a real trunk ?
I think it then rings.
