Hey all, I've copied this over from the MS: Office forum in hopes it would get a better response here.

TIA

I have a question regarding Outlook 2002. How do you view an image/picture in the preview pane without having to save the attachment first and then opening it? The pictures are showing up as a red x. Once you double click on the attachment under the subject line and choose to open it, it will open fine but in another window.

I have looked in the Outlook help menu and searched online for an answer and haven't come up with anything.

Thanks in advance for any help.

A question for you first. Are you currently in text only, rich text format or HTML format within outlook?

If you are in HTML format the pictures can be sent via a web page orientation. If not then you have to select the file prior to viewin it. Check your settings in Internet Explorer to ensure the setting to view pictures is selected.

Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Multimedia Section > Show Image Download Placeholders.

If this is selected you will only see the placeholder not the picture itself.

Hope this helps.

I'd like to raise this question again as it was not solved, and I also would like to try to find a solution.

Thanks
