No Outlook auto send/receive though configured

I have a user on our network for whom I've configured Outlook to do a Send/Reveive every 5 minutes. He can check his mail just find by clicking Send/Receive, but the auto doens't work.

Windows XP Pro, Office XP, full time connection to 100MB network, no weird apps, just stock MS stuff.

I am having the same issue in Outlook 2000 on WinXP. Exchange email works fine, auto send/receive intermittently fails on pop accounts. It is not consistent, but very frustrating. Settings remain the same day to day and on the different machines, even on those that function properly.

Anyone have an idea? Im open to about anything.

I can offer only the solace of the same issue, although I may have a solution. Stay tuned as I must first solve a more pressing issue with Outlook.
