No logon servers available

I have a W2000 AD setup with a main domain and several child domains. I have a shared directory on a server in the main domain that I want to have accessed by users in the child domains.

When ever I try to connect one of them to the shared directory (set for everyone full access), I am receiving the message "No logon servers available to service logon request."

What needs to be done to enable the users in the child domains to access this share?

I assume all the domains are registered on a DNS server that your clients are pointing to?

Yes - all domains have the DNS replicating.
