No keyboard or mouse

Using Virtual PC 2007 I've got a Windows 2000 Pro VM that the keyboard and mouse do not work on. I have other W2K Pro VMs that work ok. The keyboard works during bootup, but not once it boots to Windows. Is there something that I can do in the recovery console to get it to re-detect the keyboard and mouse?

somewhere in the back of my mind i remember Virtual PC will not see USB. Someone correct me if I am wrong, I do know that it will not recognize a USB flash drive.

Not using USB. Don't see how that could be the problem.
