To make some room on a HD (Win 2000/SP4) I removed Oracle 10g.

Now I have no internet explorer icon anymore, no Iutlook Express Icon and the Media PLayer gives an error 1000 (unknown).

I tried to make the shortcuts to the 3 programs, but can't find the needed *.exe.

I can start IE when I open an Word doc with a internet link in the text.

I searched several KB on the Microsoft site, no solution.

Re-installed IE, no solution.
Re-installed Media Player, same error, Media Player has to be closed by Windows for error.
When I look in Events, there is the error 1000 ??
Seems to be a general number for unknown.

Any idea where to look, what to do.

Edit...

Good, I seems to have my Media Player back.
I found a setup somewhere in an existing Media folder and just (desperatly) clicked on it and let it run....

It worked....for now.

Ok, one down, 1 to go....

Never mind...

Talking and writing about a problem seems to activate hidden gifts to find a solution.

Until now everything is back again. Cross fingers.
