I'm definately a newbie, and I'm trying to get Samba installed. In every installation manual and FAQ I've found, I'm supposed to alter the /etc/inetd.conf file. But there is no inetd.conf file there, or anywhere else. Am I supposed to create it? There's a xinetd.conf file there, is that the same thing?
I'm using Redhat 7.3 (KDE3) and trying to get Samba-2.2.4 to work.

Thanks!

you have xinetd instead of inetd
