No hyperlink rollover effect on borders

I have set hyperlink rollover effects using page properties, background, enable hyperlink rollover effects, rollover style but these effects are not being applied to the shared borders (FrontPage 2002). I know I have achieved this before (FrontPage 2000) without selecting each hyperlink in turn and using format / dynamic HTML effects which I realise is an option (though seems to ignore colour of selected font).

Any ideas on what I could be doing wrong?

Ahah! The hyperlinks in the borders do not use the same font color as the default for other hyperlinks. Once I changed the font color to the default, the rollover effects worked.
