My brothers computer is very old, it was made by Gateway and we don't have the driver disk. I've tried to get them online but none of them work for installation, I can't do any updates or the color will go down from 16 bit to 4 bit. Not pretty.

What would I do for getting all the drivers - especially the display drivers? What is a known website that has all the drivers that are on the original disk?

Here are the computers current settings:

Keep in mind that I can't do any updates or the color will revert back to 4 bit. So I can't get SP2 or 3 until I find out how to get my display drivers working.

Using the serial number (0029785992) from above I get to this link:

From there I find the following drivers. You MAY need to install the chipset driver before the video driver.

Is your problem that you have located drivers but cannot install them, or is it that you cannot locate the correct driver?

Have you searched this site for an appropriate driver?

This link mentions a "Red Driver CD", you might have to contact Gateway and see if you can get a replacement.

Have you searched the Intel web site for drivers?
