I dont seem to be able to see the backup device listed. I have an HP Storage works DAT 72
It did not appear in the list when I initialy set up veritas backup exec. Anyone any ideas?

Have had this happen before also, tech support had me delete tape drive out of Windows device manager, reboot server and re-run the device install utility to load the BackupExec tape driver into the OS. This resolved my issue... make sure you update all of your hardware firmware to the latest with HP.
