No counter logs

Running w2k server and exchange server 2k. Using Computer Management, Performance Logs & Alerts to track server performance. But when I try to add counter logs, no tracking objects appear in the drop down - instead, it's just a series of numbers. Tech net suggest reinstalling sp2. Did that to no avail.

Any suggestions,
