Hi everyone,

I have a winxp station on a lan, and I connect to the internet via a proxy.
I can't connect to the internet - "can't find server" error. nslookup is not working too. ping works, and remote desktop from outside to my computer works.
DNS service is started, but I saw that it is depended on the IPSEC service. When I try to start the IPSEC service, I receive the error: "An invalid argument was supplied" (error 10022).
Even if I try to configure the proxy with its IP not by name, and try to open "http://[ip number]" it is not working.
Please help!!!
Thanks.

IE, Tools, Internet Options, Connections, LAN Settings, you should check both check boxes on the proxy settings box, specify the IP of the proxy, and in Settings check the box for the use of the proxy for all protocols.

Better yet, go to another XP workstation on the LAN and see how they have this same Internet Option area set and duplicate the settings on your workstation.

Hi,

Thanks for your help. I checked all the settings and they are like in other computers. I didn't have time to try and fix it, so I formatted my drive and did all from the beginning. I think my computer needed that anyway.

Thanks
