System Configration:
My System is S8700 1.3+ G600 IP connected. No.7 Signaling is used in this sytem.Because AVAYA PABX can't provide No.7 Signaling by itself. So there is a circuit pack producted by the other manufacture to fulfil the signaling transition between China Telecom & AVAYA PABX.

Discription of the trouble.
On using hands free to place an outgoing call over IP Phone , when the called party is busy, I found the call will be automatically dropped without giving busy tone. On the other hand, this problem won’t occur while I am using the handset.
There is no problem for analog phones no mater outgoing or internal calls.Internal calls (including IP to IP, IP to TDM) have no problem. If the called party is the cell phone, which is out of service, indication such as “The subscriber is power off” could be heard on using hands free.

AramHowe,

do you mean 3rd party circuit pack installed in g600? wow. i think you'll need to consult the manufacturer of this circuit pack, i think avaya will not help you in this case. by the way, there is a circuit pack for definity that provides ss7 signaling, but it is restricted to use within large call centers. try to consult avaya on this part, maybe they'll be able to help you.
as for the condition, i strongly suspect that it's some kind of protocol misunderstanding between pabx and telecom. but i don't know anything about ss7 so i'm not able to help you.

Yes, Now I suspect there is some misunderstanding between AVAYA PABX and No.7 signaling circuit pack. The trace log told me No.7 signaling circuit pack has sent the "disconnect" message to the AVAYA PABX, it seems AVAYA couldn't recognize that message which led to no busy tone will be played by AVAYA PABX.

I experience the same exact issue with a Cisco ATA Adapter. If you are on speaker, and get a busy, it drops the call, if on handset, you get the busy. Another issue I have is the switch will not disconnect when the far end disconnects. If the other person hangs up, I get a busy signal and then a howler tone.

I have not found a workaround, except in the disp sys special-applications portion wherein you can pay to have "disconnect on busy" or some feature like that turned on.
