No Bios - Need to install

Hi all

I have got a computer of a freind and I beleive it has no bios. Its a compaq ap400 desktop. Basically it seems like the computers boot order is set to only boot from CD as this works. but it will not boot from hard drive or floppy. I can not get into the bios either, after doing some research I found out that I should be able to press f12 on boot to access the bios but this does not happen for me. I get the compaq flash screen and then nothing, even if I keep press f12 ( I have tried all the f keys).

Does anyone know how to install the bios back on this machine or what else I can do or how the bios was removed.

Compaqs are usually F10 at the splash screen if my memory serves me correctly. However some compaqs have a Bios "boot" sector. You may need to install this. Go to compaqs website and look for Softpaqs / rompaqs under BIOS.
