NIC will ping itself but nothing else until restart.

We have a server running Win2000 server 1 or 2 times a week it will lock everyone up. I check it and can ping server but nothing else. The workstations cannot ping server but can ping each other. We have replaced the NIC several times and the cable running from the server all the way to the switch. I hope someone has had this problem before and can help with a solution but as always any suggestions will be very greatful.

Have you checked Event Viewer to see if something is showing up everytime before the lockups?

Hi - Volkoff007,

There is one error - Event ID 7024 The BITS service terminated with service-specific error 2147944102.

I researched this error at Microsoft site kb it has to do with Terminal Services service being disabled on the computer I uninstalled it because we did not use it anyway.

Unfortunately there are no other errors.
